2006 Dates Set For Colorado Trail Projects

At a recent breakfast meeting in Colorado Springs, the NSA Colorado Chapter planning committee agreed on the following dates for projects for 2006: June 22 and 23 for the early summer project and September 6-10 for the late summer project. Details of the projects TBA. The majority of the jumpers polled responded that they like the late summer dates and that we should keep it at five days. Details of both projects will be posted on the nsacoprojects.blogspot.com as soon as the information is available. The two projects combined offer a total of seven project days which is the same as the projects in Montana and Idaho. We also discussed making contacts with the US Forest Service at both the district and region level and with the Continental Divide Trail Association to explore the feasibility of projects with those organizations. We also discussed exploring possible sources of grants and how to pursue funding sources for the Colorado projects. We also agreed to continue the tradition of the first Monday in December 'beer call' which will be at the Rockyard American Grill and Brewing Comapny in Castle Rock, Colorado 1600-1900 on 05 December 2005. This third annual 'beer call' is canceled if unsafe driving conditons prevail due to inclement weather.
